This is a t-shirt available on several websites. I've tried and tried to figure out why the apostrophe is there. If there were a dance named the Dolphin's Rock or if there were a place called Dolphin's Rock, the apostrophe would be acceptable. I think the shirt means that dolphins are awesome...they rock. I think the shirt should read "Dolphins Rock."

Thanks to astute former student Sarah for this one!   "Calender" should be spelled calendar. It appears that there is also an apostrophe missing in "childrens."

This sign should read, "No food or drink is to be stored in this refrigerator." When using the conjunction or, the verb should agree with the latter subject. In this case, that is the word DRINK. (Check it by saying, "No drink is to be stored... .) Thanks to Carla for this one.

Three mistakes and one commendation in this one... The commendation is for using "he or she" with the antecedent "cashier." Cashier is singular; therefore, he/she is necessary. The second sentence should read "Every customer WHO" because a customer is a person, not a thing. The second mistake is that "every customer" is singular and the pronoun "their" is plural. Since "their" refers to "customer" "their" should be "his or her." The third mistake is that "nest" should be "next." This sign is from a McAlister's Deli in Little Rock.

I think I may have posted this before; if so, my apologies for repeating. The word "mens" is never correct. It should be written "men's." Tsk. Tsk. Shame on you, Belk!

Entrance is the correct spelling.

This blurb from Little Rock's Ya-Ya's menu contains two sentence formation errors. The first sentence is a comma splice because those two independent clauses are joined with just a comma. The comma could he replaced with a semicolon or a coordinating conjunction could be inserted after the comma to correct this error. The final sentence has an unnecessary comma. It is unnecessary because the conjunction, which is AND in this sentence, is connecting two parts of the same sentence; it is not connecting two sentences/independent clauses. The food and service are top-notch, and I hope to return soon.

The first use of IS in the first sentence should IN. The final sentence is a run-on sentence. THEREFORE is not a coordinating conjunction; therefore, a semicolon, not a comma is necessary before the word THEREFORE.

USA/UCA

I think that his post should read "UCA PREZ IS OUT."
