Are/Our-The Curse of the Southern Accent

Thanks to a new Facebook friend of mine for this picture. It is a bit ironic that in a plea for support for education the writer mistakenly used "ARE" instead of "OUR." Are is a verb, and our is a possessive pronoun. When speaking with a true Southern accent, they sound very similar. This is actually a very common mistake in my line of work. It appears that this is job security for English teachers all around the South. ;)
