I found this one at Mardel in Little Rock. "WHAT'S YOUR GENRE?" or "WHAT ARE YOUR GENRES?" would be correct, but as is, this has a subject/verb agreement problem. What's means what is. Is should be used with a singular noun, not the plural noun genres.
Maybe they mean, "What is your general reservation concerning bulletin board?"
ReplyDeleteGood to see a fellow Saline Countian (I assume) and Blogger and grammar geek. I like your site.
This was corporate's doing. They sent a photo with the Bulletin Boards already done and all the employee had to do was copy the photo. At our store, we all laughed at the mistake and put the BB up correctly, but wondered if SOME store would miss it and put it up with "genres" spelled incorrectly! Apparently someone did! LOL
